Is it the innovative retailers, brands, start-ups or investors? Or is there a bigger force to reckon? Is it happening naturally? What are your thoughts?
The holiday season is long over. It should not come to us as a surprise that online sales for the season demonstrated double digit increases over last year. This is exciting, encouraging and somewhat predictive at the same time since these growth rates are historical trends that we have seen in recent years. E-Commerce is still in its infancy and far from being a significant portion of overall retail sales.
What is worth noting about the recent holiday season is not what retailers did to comp ads, sales, marketing or to better compete with other retailers. It was less about retailers.
